Lapage Nursery is a caring, nurturing environment which puts the child at the heart of the curriculum. We provide children with a wide range of learning opportunities, indoors and outdoors, and provide parents and carers with flexible hours to suit their needs as well as those of their children. We also offer 30-hour provision for children who are eligible.
In EYFS we use the non-statutory Development Matters to help support our judgements of where your child is working using a ‘best fit’ approach. This supports children’s typical development from birth to age 5. If you would like to look at this further, the document is can be found below.

Hello, my name is Mrs Aysha. I have been working in the Early Years Foundation stage as an Early Years Practitioner for a few years now and I really enjoy it. In my spare time if I have any, I love to bake and cook!

Our core story in Nursery this term is ‘The Gruffalo’
Children have been very interested in listening to the book and using repetitive phrases from the book. We have been busy making homes for the Gruffalo as well as the food for the animals from the story in the mud kitchen.
Here is a link below for you to access the book so that you can take part in joining in the fun with your child.

In Nursery, we have been collecting leaves and paint them to make a pattern. There are red and brown, gold and yellow leaves. We have a song for Autumn leaves.
We have also done finger painting to create an effect of Autumn tree and leaves falling off.
‘Leaves are changing, leaves are changing
red and brown, red and brown
gold and yellow. gold and yellow
fall to the ground, fall to the ground.’
The children in Nursery have settled in well. They have independently started to move around the classroom and get busy. Some have even made a group of friends!
Our focus Story for this half term is Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Can we please make sure that all children come into school with a book bag everyday. This will be used as a way of communication from staff to parents. Children will be taking home letters and a reading book.
Please can we make sure that all children have their coats on every day. We will need wellington boots soon as we are approaching the cold and wet weather. The children have access to the outdoor as well as indoor provision every day.
Nursery children have been on a trip to Bradford Moor Park. Our aim was for children to understand the world and build confidence as well as social and emotional skills.
We picked up leaves and sticks from the park and bought them back to school.
We saw big and small ducks in the pond. There were squirrels running up the trees!
