    Welcome to Year 3 at Lapage

    In Year 3, we are very excited to be learning all about volcanoes and earthquakes. We will learn about how they are formed and what happens when they erupt!  We will be visiting Cartwright Hall and Cliffe Castle to find out more about art and science.

      Hi, I am Mrs Gill and I have worked at Lapage Primary School for over 10 years. I started my journey at Lapage as a Newly Qualified Teacher in Nursery. My experience of teaching has been Early Years (Nursery and Reception), Key Stage 1(Year 1 and Year 2) and Key Stage 2 (Year 3). Currently, I am teaching in Year 3. My passion has always been to teach young children through exciting activities for them to enjoy learning. I also aim to develop the children I teach into independent, resilient learners. Any children I have taught so far will tell you how I make them all laugh as I believe learning should be FUN!!

      I like listening to music, cooking all types of cuisines, and love to watch Bollywood movies. At the weekends, I sometimes volunteer in the kitchen at the local gurdwara (Sikh temple). I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children and most of all, love travelling to sunny destinations with them.

      I want to inspire all children to reach their full potential and raise their aspirations. I believe in holistic working to ensure every child succeeds. I really value the positive relationships I have been able to build with the children I have taught and their parents.

    What's been happening in Year 3?

    This term, we are becoming historians to discover more about Ancient Egypt.  We will be visiting the Bagshaw museum to find out more and will be creating our own Egyptian art.
