The School Day

The school opens at 8.30am for students and closes at 3pm (3.15pm for Nursery PM children). The total hours of statutory education provided in a typical week are 32.5 hours. Morning registration time last until 8.50am and after this, any child is marked as late.

It is very important pupils arrive on time in the morning and are collected on time at the end of the day.

If your child is absent from school for any reason, please ring the school or send a note explaining the reason. If we do not receive a message then it will be marked as an unauthorised absence.

Children have an option of having a cooked school meal or they can bring a healthy packed lunch.

Pupils are expected to wear the school uniform at all times. It is important each article of clothing is clearly marked with your child’s name to ensure if it is lost it can be returned to your child.  Uniforms can be bought from The Uniform Shop, 50-52, Darley St, Bradford BD1 3HN.

P.E. Uniform consists of:

  • Black shorts, leggings or tracksuit bottoms
  • Light blue T-shirt
  • Black pumps (not trainers)
  • These items should be kept in a pump bag (not plastic carrier bag) and hung on your child’s peg. Each holiday they must be taken home and washed. Trousers, shoes, coats and P.E. kits are available from any local supermarket

Pupils must not wear jewellery such as necklaces, bracelets or rings. Pupils may wear stud earrings, please note all types of earrings can be dangerous in P.E. or play situation. Watches are acceptable but must be taken off during P.E. lessons. All items of jewellery are worn at the owner’s risk and the school cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage.
